Croy Station Car Park

Image of proposed car-park redevelopment at Croy

Croy station functions somewhat as a park and ride station, being conveniently located a couple of miles away from both the towns of Kilsyth and Cumbernauld. The small station car-park was already full, and there was interest from Transport Scotland and ScotRail for wide-ranging improvements at the station, including a new car-park to be constructed and operated by NCP.

In parallel with other work on the engineering issues involved, NCP approached the Railway Consultancy for advice on the business case for the car-park. We reviewed the forecast traffic levels, explained some of the railway jargon and criteria being used to evaluate the scheme, and helped to prepare a business case consistent with STAG (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance) rules.
