Jet Fuel to Heathrow - Press Release

The Railway Consultancy was delighted to see that the ‘Jet Fuel to Heathrow’ project was the winner of the ‘Freight and Logistics Achievement of the Year’ at the National Rail Awards on 19th September 2019.
The key players were Railfreight Consulting, British Airways, BP (fuel), VTG (wagons), Network Rail and Freightliner (train operator), but we have played our part too in this project. We have been supporting Railfreight Consulting in undertaking detailed train planning to see if the existing traffic volumes could be increased.
Not only are there benefits to the rail industry in supporting flights out of Heathrow, but the trains are already taking 100 HGVs off the M25 every day, as they deliver 20% of the airport’s fuel requirements.
